HEALTH AND SAFETY QUALIFICATIONS
With the ongoing changes within Health and Safety legislation, it has never been more important to ensure compliance in this field. Contravening this legislation can result in prosecution, with the possibility of an unlimited fine or even imprisonment.
All employers are required to have the correct systems in place to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for employees and any other people who may be affected by their business activities. Through the achievement of one of these accredited Health and Safety qualifications, your employees will develop the appropriate knowledge and attitude to contribute to your organisation’s continued compliance.
LEVEL 1 AWARDS IN HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Level 1 Awards in Health and Safety have been designed to ensure that employees are equipped with a basic knowledge of Health and Safety in their workplace, including the duties under current UK Health and Safety legislation.
These qualifications require no former knowledge of Health and Safety and are therefore ideal as part of your organisation’s Health and Safety induction programme, but could also form part of ongoing refresher training designed to improve the health and safety culture within your workplace.
These qualifications suit a diverse group of individuals ranging from those working in large organisations to those working in small businesses. Candidates can also use the qualification as part of a relevant course being taken in schools and colleges.
The current range of Level 1 Health and Safety qualifications that CaterSafe offers, are as follows:
- HABC Level 1 Award in Principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF)
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety for Catering
- Level 1 Award in Health and Safety for Retail
- HABC Level 1 Award in Health and Safety for Carers
Duration of course: 4 hours
LEVEL 2 AWARD IN HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE

This includes the recognition of hazards and risks, along with the relevant legislation, and will provide employees with an awareness of their own safety, as well as the safety of colleagues, customers, contractors and members of the public. This qualification is applicable for any one, whether working in the private or public sector.
This qualification is fully compliant with industry and regulatory standards as well as being recognised by the Health and Safety Executive, auditors and other enforcement officers.
